NZGS Student Awards

The New Zealand Geotechnical Society Student Awards are presented to recognise and encourage student participation in the fields of geotechnical engineering and engineering geology.

YGP Conference Award

(Legacy Award)

The YGP Conference Award was jointly offered by the Earthquake Commission Research Foundation and the New Zealand Geotechnical Society to support New Zealanders attending the Young Geotechnical Professionals Conference. Although this award is no longer offered, we continue to acknowledge the achievements of past recipients.

NZGS JW Ridley Geomechanics Paper Award

The New Zealand Geotechnical Society Geomechanics Award is awarded every three years and shall be presented at the Society’s Annual General Meeting.

NZGS Scholarship

The NZGS Management Committee provides funding for a scholarship that would enable a member of the Society to undertake postgraduate research in New Zealand that would advance the objectives of the Society.

The New Zealand Geotechnical Society (NZGS) Symposium Best Paper and Poster Awards aim to recognise and celebrate excellence in geotechnical research, practice, and student participation.
