Working Groups

The NZGS may form working groups – normally comprising volunteers – to address issues or problems that arise in the industry. Suggestions and offers of assistance are always welcome and should be made through ourĀ secretary.

Current groups

The following groups are active at present.

AGS committee

The AGS data format is used to electronically transmit geotechnical data.  Originally written in the UK, it is now used extensively in New Zealand with some minor modifications to suit New Zealand conditions.  This committee reconvened in June 2016 to assess whether additional guidance and updates are required as a result of technological advances and the widespread adoption of the New Zealand Geotechnical Database.
