NZGS Student Poster Competition

In December 2015 entries from students across the country were judged in Auckland for the NZGS Student Presentation Awards Poster Competition.

The competition is designed to recognise and encourage student participation in the fields of rock mechanics, soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering and engineering geology.

With a range of high quality entries, motivated by great prizes ($1,000 for first, $500 for second and $300 for third place) the competition was fierce.

The top three posters were judged to be:

1st Place: Kuanjin Lee – Dynamic Characterisation of Auckland Reclaimed Soils.

2nd Place: Gregory Clements and Takeshi Burden – Re-evaluation of Liquefaction Potential Index based on Christchurch Data.

3rd Place: Gislaine Pardo – Geotechnical properties of sand mixed with Biochar.
