Online Webinar: Let the terrain do the talking – Understanding Northland Landscapes from Aerial Photos and LiDAR Terrain Models
Presented by David Buxton, Geotechnical Engineer, Northland Geotechnical Specialists
Register free HERE
The presentation will comprise review and interpretation of aerial photo stereopair red/blue anaglyphs and LiDAR terrain models, with various overlays, for a number of sites around Northland. The presentation will highlight how interpretation of the terrain can inform our engineering decision making, and why it is particularly important in complex terrain. Best of all, both the data and software are free and readily available to all.
To view the aerial photo stereopair anaglyphs in the presentation you will need a pair of red/blue 3D glasses. For a free pair, please email david@northlandgeotech.co.nz. Alternatively, they can be cheaply purchased online (try wish.com, search “Red Blue 3D Glasses”, or they are also sometimes available on Trademe).
The presentation will be followed by a chance for questions/discussions.
David Buxton is a geotechnical engineer and has been Northland based for 5 years prior to which he worked for T+T in Auckland for 10 years.
