Tonkin & Taylor (T+T) were engaged by Tauranga City Council (TCC) to undertake a high-level desk-top study of the landslides occurring on the Maungatapu Peninsula. This project was commissioned by TCC following several large landslides that occurred across the peninsula in August 2022. During this NZGS presentation, we will present the information we compiled as part of this study and present our theories/thoughts as to why these landslides are occurring.
Jesse Beetham is an Engineering Geologist (PEngGeol) and Category 1 Geo-Professional working for Tonkin & Taylor. Jesse started his career as an engineering geologist in Tauranga in 2016 and has never looked back. Jesse has a wide range of experience ranging from geotechnical assessments for stand-alone residential
