This course is aiming to provide training to geo-professionals on rock mechanics and rock slope engineering. It aims to address the limited rock mechanics education in New Zealand over the recent years. The target audience is developing geotechnical professionals that have not attended a post graduate course on rock mechanics and rock engineering or experienced professionals that would like a refresher on rock mechanics. This course has been organised at short notice to take advantage of Dr Vassilis Marinos’s presence in Australasia. This is the first of two courses on this topic area that will build on each other (the next will be in 2026).
