Geotechnical Risk in the Network Management of Roading

Having worked on State highway network management in the regions of Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne, Terry developed an increasing awareness of the geological context of individual sites. This presentation will go over these specific sites and demonstrate Terry’s growing appreciation of the need to manage geotechnical risk. In addition to growing awareness, there were other factors, including new legislation, that compelled this risk management improvement. This will be an interactive session to share lessons learnt, and possibly look to where ongoing enhancements might be made with a final wrap up of some dos and don’ts.
