Your own PPE must be worn at all times

Fulton Hogan and March Construction are working together to deliver the SH76 Brougham St Active Modes Bridge for NZTA.

The project involves the construction of 8 No. 1500 mm dia 28 m long reinforced concrete piles to support the bridge. The original design required full length casings and a driven concrete plug to support the ground during pile construction and enhance the settlement performance/stiffness of the piles.

The construction team have proposed and had approved an alternative pile design which uses bentonite drilling fluid to support the pile excavation and base grouting to achieve the stiffness/settlement requirements. This construction methodology not only provides cost savings to NZTA but will significantly reduce vibrations and disturbance in what is a highly populated urban location.

NZGS and the NZ Federation of Piling Specialists would like to invite people to come and have a look at this piling methodology in action and ask any questions of the design and construction team.

NOTE:  Personal PPE gear to be worn at all times.
