The Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) in conjunction with the IAEG will be presenting the 1st Australian Conference on Engineering Geology  (ACEG) in July 2025, and has invited NZGS members to partake.

The conference will be held in Brisbane, and is open to all geopractitioners and academics working on engineering and geohazard projects.

Abstracts are now open and AGS invite all professionals to submit your abstract through the above link. The conference will consider both full papers and extended abstracts (up to 3 pages).

Abstract submissions have been extended four weeks to now close 11.59pm on Monday 28 October 2024.

Engineering geology is experiencing a time of change, not only in Australian practice but internationally as well. Challenges include education and training, professional registration, and the changing role of geology in engineering professional practice. The aim of this conference is to present some of the latest technical developments and discuss the professional issues.
