I'm a member of Engineering NZ and I have done the knowledge assessment. Once the knowledge assessment is approved, I'm planning to apply for the competent assessment in the middle of this year for the chartered engineer application. As I'm a structural engineer, I often work with design with soil-structure interactions.

Sam has worked across several industries throughout his career. As an engineering geologist Sam has worked in New Zealand and Australia on a range of projects that include: Road and rail corridors, tunnels, bridges, mine shaft collars and dams. Sam has been involved in the planning, implementation and delivering of geotechnical investigation and design elements for these projects. Sam has also provided construction phase support services such as pile inspections and supervision, foundation inspections and earthworks supervision. Sam has also worked in the mining, oil and gas industries as a site based geologist that included data collection with various methods. Sam has worked on drilling operations of all sizes in various terrains. Sam has a keen interest in rock mechanics and production of ground models.
