Short Course – Unsaturated soils/ground movement control in deep excavations and tunnelling


Dear NZGS Members,


Professor Antonio Gens, from the Technical University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain, will be visiting New Zealand in May and presenting a one day course in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.  The topic of the course is:

UNSATURATED SOILS / GROUND MOVEMENT CONTROL IN DEEP EXCAVATIONS and TUNNELLING

Professor Gens has kindly agreed to also make a presentation at the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch branch meetings on the following dates:


-  Auckland – Monday 10th May

-  Wellington – Tuesday 11th May

-  Christchurch – Thursday 13th May


The topic of these presentations will be:  THE FAILURE OF AZNALCÓLLAR DAM
