NZGS Student Award 2009 – Southern Region

Please come and support our two finalists for the 2009 NZGS Student Award. The finalists will be making their presentations to NZGS members on the following topics:


M. Jawad Arefi – Ground Response Evaluation for Enhanced Seismic Hazard Assessment


Matt Fitzmaurice – Collapse Mechanisms of Chimney Caving


Venue: E6 lecture room, School of Engineering of Canterbury University

Light Refreshments from 5:30pm near E6 lecture room, School of Engineering. Presentations begin at 6:00pm

The presentations will be followed by the judges’ deliberation and the winner will be announced on the night.
